Film history

I came across an excellent multi-part documentary on the history of film this weekend. Titled "The Story of Film: An Odyssey," and available on Netflix in multiple episodes, it is like a master class in cinematic innovation. It was directed and narrated by Mark Cousins, a film critic from Northern Ireland, based on his 2004 book The Story of Film. If any of our brief discussion of cinematic techniques interested you, this is a great follow-up.

There's a summary from the BBC here.
